Speaking of that Wales v France match, Dave, what's your opinion of it?

I don't think many would disagree that Les Bleus have lucked their way into the final. After all, they lost twice in the pool stage - including against Tonga - and they only beat England because Johnno's men were just dreadful, especially in the first half.

Plus it can't be all that often that a team scores less than 10 points and still wins...

Hi Des

Well, I live in Wales, but I'm English , and my heart will always be white when it comes to rugby. With regards to England, you can't think you can afford not to start playing until half time, and still expect to win. I think there were some selection issues with england. but basically it was a case of players not standing up to be counted. You can't blame France for that.

I am so sorry, and so angry on Wales behalf. I've lived in wales for a quarter of a century - my wife is Welsh, my kids are Welsh. The sending off was maybe, just maybe justifiable if you insist on a VERY strict interpretation of the law. Yet nobody does usually. We've all seen far worse in this very world cup being given yellow cards. On everything excpet the scoreboard Wales were the better and more deserving side. Yet only the score matters. Its heartbreaking for people here. I was in Cardiff as people were coming out of the Milennium stadium having watched the match there this morning, and believe me, the people of Wales don't need this and don't deserve this.

Not that I for one minute condone some of the things that have been said about the ref. In my opinion, he got it wrong. Its hard - its very hard, but that's it.

As for France, well, I don't blame them. This world cup has been so topsy turvey for them, who'd bet against them ? I certainly won't be putting any money on them, though.

Like life, sometimes sport ain't fair. But what can you do ?
