Once again Brian Pendreigh has come up trumps for me, and I am in his debt. Here is a link he sent me to a trailer for Channel 4's new show Quiz Trippers - its a minute or so long. Just click on this link
Quiz Trippers Trailer
Oh, and just in case anyone suggests it, I have no vested interest in promoting the show at all, I'm just interested to see how it turns out, having been invited to audition, but been unable to make the commitment to do so.

oh dear oh dear oh dear.... spot the team picked by demographic requirements..... famous last words but i would fancy my chances against that team single handed and i suspect i am not the only quizzer thinking that. Probably just as well Clarkie was not able to take part
'The ultimate test of general knowledge'? My arse. It is exactly the programme that I imagined it would be. Which means I am glad I'm not on it, and that I will probably watch it out of morbid curiosity.
i kinda hope they make a second series and come into a quizzing heartland..........
Hi Mark ( that's Chaser Mark Labbett for the uninitiated )
Still might have been fun to take part in, I reckon , even if it does seem to be one of those shows whose main , if not only point is to make the participants look like right plonkers.
Hi Gareth,
Well, you know why you weren't picked now ! And yes, I will definitely be wcthing it as well. I agree totally about the regrettable use of ' the ultimate test of general knowledge' - any NEW show which hypes itself with this claim is usually going to come a cropper.

Hi Dave
Yes it does look fun to take part in, hence my slightly snide comments. The concern I would have is that I would be playing to win the quiz, would some of the others have their own agendas?
I could imagine you spending half the quiz arguing with your own team mates in a battle of the egos...
I recognise the older bloke with the beard as a quiz show regular of sorts.. A Question of Genius rings a bell.
We all know we'll be watching - for how long is another matter. I wonder what criteria they placed on the quizzes that were selected? I might offer my Tuesday night quiz as a venue if there is a series 2!!
I'll be watching. We were one of the teams at the Edinburgh quiz (which will be the Thursday night). There were 17 or 19 teams, can't remember which. One interesting twist was that they had a tie-break at the end of the quizzes, even if say one team had it in the bag with a round to go... a bit like the World Series. So you had to win the quiz and then win a tie-break. I knew or knew of 3 out of the 5 in the Quiz Trippers team. They were hardly Eggheads, but it may be a little too easy to say you could beat them when you don't know the quiz. I did know the format and I knew there would be anagrams and difficult 50-50 questions (and I thought music) and picked my side accordingly.
Hi Dave
My best guess is they'll see what the response to the show is before they make any decision about a second series.
Hi bj
Thanks for not giving away the results of the quiz you played in. I take your point as well. It is true that while the best team usually wins, any team can lose, given the right ( or wrong, if you happen to be one of them ) set of circumstances. The better the team, the less likely the circumstances are to occur, of course.

Biggest load of old bollox ever shown on TV - throw in a faded actor attempting a pseudo-cultivated Scottish accent - rebuild Hadrian's Wall ASAP!!!
